CB: Finland beat Canada

What was set up to be a real interesting and hot nation war turned into a disastrous and badmanner filled one. The underdogs Finland beat Canada easily with 6-1, a score that included three walkovers.

Finally, the last semifinal was about to be played. The Canadian team, who made it through the playoffs and group play like a boat on calm water, were up against Finland, who sailed on the same sea, but in a smaller boat. Everyone was looking forward to a tense nation war with great players from both countries, but it ended in a disaster, at least according to Lord_Marine(TE), head admin of StarCraft: Brood War Nations Cup at ClanBase.

"Without enthusiasm they're never going to win this."
Both teams showed up with only four players each, which wasn't enough to complete the lineup. Eventually 88)Jay and NeO)ArManiModel jumped in, and faced eachother in the last 1on1 fight. Despite Canada having most of their top players, it wasn't the same team that we are used to seeing. "The Canadian team didnt look at all enthusiastic and were never going to win coming into a big NW such as this in that frame of mind.", says Lord_Marine in his report.

Didn't want to play the 2on2s
After losing 4 games in the 1on1 section, Canada didn't want to play the 2on2 games, because even if they win those two, they'd still lose with 3-4. Instead, they forfeited both, and gave Finland two extra wins, which resulted in 6-1. But not only the 2on2s were forfeited - the Canadian stand-in NeO)ArManiModel forfeited his second game after losing the first to 88)Jay.

European brawl in the finals
This means that Finland has advanced to the finals where Germany is waiting. Let us hope that the finals will be a better game than the second semifinal. The Nation War will hopefully be played next weekend.
