ESWC has announced three more games for their 2013 edition. While Dota 2 is part of the competition again, SC2 is not in due to scheduling problems with WCS.

The Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) has announced its non-shooter games. After already revealing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Shootmania Storm in April, now it was the turn of the second three games.

Dota 2 is part of the ESWC championship again. Last year, Na'Vi fought against teams dignitas and Shiba for the top 3 positions in the $25,000 competition at the Paris Games Week. ESWC's participants are determined on a national license model, which resulted in a reduced number of team teams for the 2012 Dota 2 tourament compared to the previous years.

The other two announced games for 2013 are FIFA13/14 and Trackmania² Stadium. Both games have a long history in the Paris ESWC tournament. Starcraft 2 however is not part of this year's ESWC. In the statement released concerning this disappointing situation, ESWC has named the proximity to the WCS world finals at BlizzCon as the reason for this exclusion. RTS games have always been a part of ESWC, the tournament was a highlight in the Warcraft 3 year back in the 2000s.

ESWC Grand Final will happen at the Paris Games Week 30 October to 3 November this year. More information about qualification shall be revealed next week. The BlizzCon with the WCS finals in Starcraft 2 is on 8-9 November.

Games list ESWC 2013:

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Shootmania Storm
Dota 2
FIFA13/14
Trackmania² Stadium

Statement by ESWC concerning SC2 in 2013:

"Nevertheless, StarCraft 2 HotS will not be part of the selection, despite our proposal to Blizzard. We have been working for several weeks with Blizzard eSports European staff on a reasonable way to coexist, and even to connect, ESWC Finals of November 1-3rd, to the overall WCS project, and its Final of November 8-9th. But our respective schedules completely overlap, and the proximity of the dates of our finals, on which no one can move, makes the sporting association very complicated. We want to share our disappointment with the players, champions and fans of the title. We wish all the best to WCS events in 2013."
