Virtus.pro has picked up former Team Liquid offlaner Saberlight as they head into the final tournament of the year, DreamLeague Season 27.
Czech offlaner Jonáš “SabeRLighT-” Volek has found himself a new home as he dons the orange colors of
Virtus.pro for the 2025/2026 season. This move follows his recent departure from a brief stint with
AVULUS and his official exit from
Team Liquid, the team he represented throughout the previous season.
“We are pleased to announce the newest offlane player of our Dota 2 roster: Jonáš ‘SabeRLight-’ Volek is joining the team,” Virtus.pro announced across its social media channels.
SabeRLighT- replaces Daxak in Virtus.pro
In the previous season, SabeRLighT- enjoyed the best run of his career so far. He joined then–world champions Team Liquid for the 2024/2025 season and faced the daunting task of filling the role previously held by Neta “33” Shapira, one of the world’s best offlaners.
The pressure was even greater as SabeRLighT- himself lacked top-tier experience, having only played for North America’s
TSM and
Shopify Rebellion at the height of his career.
The season started well, with SabeRLighT- claiming four tournament victories and several podium finishes. However, his TI campaign ended on a sour note with a 9th–13th placement.
In September, SabeRLighT- was benched by Liquid and temporarily joined AVULUS on loan. His time there did not yield meaningful results, as the team barely qualified for a single event. AVULUS has since disbanded, but SabeRLighT- quickly found a new home.
Virtus.pro’s new lineup to compete in DreamLeague Season 27
Virtus.pro is widely known as one of the biggest Eastern European Dota 2 organizations, having fielded some of the most historic rosters in the scene. But after a period of instability–failing to qualify for TI in the last two years–the organization has pivoted to recruiting players from outside the region.
They picked up prominent players like Tal “Fly” Aizik and
Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop, with
sam “Bulba” Sosale stepping into the coaching role–the trio best known for their dominance under
Evil Geniuses in the early 2020s. Well-accomplished players Enzo “Timado” Gianoli (carry) and
VLADISLAV “Antares” KERTMAN (position 4) also joined the lineup. While
Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin was initially brought in as the offlaner, he was let go, and SabeRLighT- has now been brought on to take over the role.
The starting VP roster didn’t make much of an impact in the first few tournaments of the new season, bowing out early in events such as FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 and FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2. With a change in the position 3 role, they’ll hope to see improved results. VP’s next tournament is the upcoming DreamLeague Season 27, set to begin on 10 December.
