V1lat has tweeted that Russian team, VP will not be competing in EMS One this upcoming weekend. The main reason for it is due to their carry player, Airman losing his passport.

Just moments ago, Vitalii 'v1lat' Volochai tweeted that Virtus.Pro will not be going Katowice, Poland to compete in EMS One. The tournament is set to begin on the 20th of April.

The reason for the team to not compete was not stated in the first tweet but was later clarified that Ilya 'Airman' Pivtsaev, VP's carry player has lost his passport and hence, the team will be one man down.

It is unknown what ESL will do at this point as to whether to replace VP or allow Absolute Legends, VP's first round opponent to receive the free win.

VP was one of the stronger teams coming into the offline finals, placing second in the qualifying cup stage and topping their groupstage against two other Russian teams.

Gosugamers is trying to reach Virtus.Pro and EMS organizers for a statement and perhaps an interview about the situation.
