iG pulls ahead in G-1 Champions League

The opening night witnessed two epic clashes - iG and DK representing the Chinese front and MUFC and Orange representing Malaysia. Ultimately, it was two back-to-back stomps for iG in the first match of the night while Orange was able to draw DK following a convincing first game victory.

Here are the highlights after Day 1 of play:

Group A (Game 2)

rubick disruptor

iG showed fans why they were a world-class contender with a lineup in game two reminiscent of their The International performance with Dark Seer and Tiny. On top of this, Ferrari's Night Stalker was able to dominate the first night phase with a Godlike streak by the end of the tenth minute of the game.

The latest addition of Jakiro into their strategy book proved too much for the Malaysian team to handle, with mid-game fights spiralling out of control due to the almost effortless use of Vacuum into Ice Path and Dual Breath on the back of Chuan's Jakiro. At 36 minutes, MUFC forfeited the game with a kill deficit of 12-36.

Group B (Game 1)
Malaysia OrangeChina DK
lina shadow demon chaos

tiny invoker batrider

jakiro wisp

DK captain Burning reunited with his EHOME '10 teammates Dai and 357 in a matchup against Orange that was a familiar encounter for both parties. The influence of the two new members were demonstrated in a classic Wisp and Tiny pickup by the Chinese powerhouse along with recent popular European picks Jakiro and Batrider.

Burning revealed to us in a statement following the match that the draft in game one was an attempt at testing the waters and that the team were not as prepared as they should have been for the opening match against Orange. While DK were clearly abreast with the latest metagame, Orange played a stable and methodical game which dismantled the seemingly unprepared DK. It was clear that the game was over with Yamateh's Shadow Fiend pulling miles ahead on the scoreboard for farm.

Tomorrow, TongFu will play Natural 9 at 09:30 CET for the second playday of the week, with LGD and Sequential happening at 14:00 CET later in the day. Meanwhile, check out Vods of last night's matches.
