Battlesector has already had a busy year, and its latest roadmap shows Black Lab Games still has plenty more planned.
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector isn't done adding more combatants to its battlefields just yet. Developer Slitherine Ltd have outlined the game's next stretch of post-launch content, with a new narrative DLC, another playable faction, and more quality-of-life updates now confirmed to be in development.
The devs shared an updated roadmap in a Steam post on Saturday (8 August SGT / Friday 7 August PST), giving players a look at what's ahead after several major additions to Battlesector, including two new factions and the full launch of Crusade Mode 1.0. The roadmap doesn't give away much about what's coming just yet, but Black Lab Games confirmed that more factions, narrative content, and quality-of-life updates are on the way.
What has been added to Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector in 2026?
The new roadmap follows a fairly packed run of updates for Battlesector, including the release of two major faction DLCs featuring the Black Legion and Ultramarines.
The Black Legion DLC brought 15 units to the game, including the Chaos Lord, Terminators, Hellbrute, and Chaos Legionaries. Ultramarines followed during Warhammer Skulls with 18 units of its own, including the Captain in Gravis Armour, Bladeguard Veterans, Redemptor Dreadnoughts, and Gladiator tanks. Crusade Mode also reached version 1.0, completing Battlesector's roguelite campaign experience across its planetary map.
Black Lab Games has also been working on the game itself between the bigger content releases, with patches covering faction balance, UI improvements and bug fixes. During Warhammer Skulls, Battlesector also opened its doors to new players with a Free-to-Play Week on Steam.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is getting a new narrative DLC
Next up for Battlesector is a new narrative DLC, although Black Lab Games isn't ready to say what the story will be about just yet. There are no details on its setting or which factions will be involved either. "We can't spoil any extra details just yet," the developer said, with more information coming closer to the DLC's release.
A new playable faction is coming to Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector
Battlesector's roster is also set to expand again with another playable faction after the additions of Black Legion and Ultramarines. Black Lab Games has similarly kept the identity of the faction secret, with no units or other details announced in the roadmap. The studio said more information will arrive closer to its release date.
The roadmap does not put an endpoint on Battlesector's development either. Black Lab Games said it remains committed to "fresh narrative content, ongoing quality of life updates, and even more factions," suggesting the newly announced faction and narrative DLC are not intended to be the game's final additions.
