Nintendo is officially bringing Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles to Indonesia in December 2026

Nintendo customers in Indonesia will be able to access the Switch consoles by the end of this year.

Nintendo is officially entering Indonesia, as it is set to launch the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in the Indonesian market this December. This move follows Nintendo’s previous commitments to the Southeast Asian region, with the company first stepping foot in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand last November

According to GamerWK, Indonesia is next on the list, opening up the Nintendo market to its large population by the end of this year.

Nintendo Switch consoles to launch in Indonesia this December

With Nintendo’s entry into Indonesia, people in the region will now have first-hand access to its products and, essentially, a more convenient customer experience.

Previously, customers in Indonesia could only purchase Nintendo products from third-party retailers or imports. The country also lacks its own regional Nintendo eShop, which typically comes with local currency pricing and payment methods–meaning most have had to rely on other means to make digital purchases.

Now, Indonesian users can buy their own Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles directly from Nintendo, which has now set up a dedicated website for the region. However, it should be noted that Nintendo has not confirmed that a local Nintendo eShop is also coming to Indonesia, even if other SEA countries have recently received their own regional store platforms. For now, only the release of the Switch consoles have been confirmed.

We can expect the console company to continue expanding to more countries in the future, and perhaps bring its eShop to Indonesia eventually, as well.
