Best in Role: Assassins on Battlefield of Eternity

Drafting in Heroes of the Storm strongly centers around the battleground. Crafting a winning team composition is critical. That is why we're bringing you quick, weekly guides that show the three best heroes for each role and on each battlefield. These heroes are really the best at all levels of play.

Our first group will review the best assassin choices on Battlefield of Eternity.

Melee:

Samuro

  • His sustained, single target damage is the highest of any melee assassin (against heroic or non-heroic targets).

  • Solid solo laner.

  • Can take mercenaries quickly and efficiently.

Kerrigan

  • Her decent single target damage is solid against non-heroics.

  • Solid set up crowd control that can chain into the Immortal stuns.

  • Excellent against merceneries.

  • Decent sustain with Assimilation Shields.

Thrall

  • Solid poke can push enemies off the objective.

  • More efficient at taking mercs than the other two.

  • The best sustain of any melee assassin because of Frostwolf Resilience.

  • One of the best solo laners in the game.

Generally, ranged assassins tend to be better on Battlefield of Eternity because they have higher sustained damage, but, if your team needs a melee assassin I would recommend picking one of these three mentioned.

Now we come to the ranged assassins.

Raynor

  • He has the best single target, sustained damage in the game.

  • Inspire makes his whole team attack faster which drastically improves the Immortal racing speed.

  • Hyperion can zone the enemy team off of either Immortal.

  • Good sustain because of Adrenaline Rush and Vigorous Assault.

Valla

  • Great single target damage.

  • Full auto attack build option.

  • Great sustain with the right talents.

  • Fast mercenary clearing, but doesn’t stay healthy without Tempered by Discipline.

  • Solid zone control potential with Strafe.

Tychus

  • Good single target damage (better on heroes than non-heroes).

  • Has a full auto attack build option and can boost his non-heroic, sustained DPS with Master Assassin.

  • Drakken Laser feels like it was made for Immortal killing. When you get the level 20 upgrade the damage on the goes through the roof.

Honorable mentions would have to be Lunara, Greymane, and Varian with Twin Blades of Fury. All three are solid on this map, but just a little weaker in the current meta.

It should be noted that the DPS numbers that I show are with the best non-heroic damage boosting talents taken, at level 20, and with heroics being used on the target dummy.
