Blizzard announces pro show match to introduce new battlegrounds


We have all seen the new battlegrounds in action by now, but now is our chance to see the first streamed event between pro teams.

Blizzard has been ramping up Heroes events lately and we couldn't be happier. After a weekend of Nexus Games qualifiers, we are once again treated to more Blizzard sanctioned tournaments. This time, an EU and NA show match between top teams of the region. We know that the new battlegrounds will be played, but it is still yet to be determined whether or not Zarya or Alarak will be playable.



Event Details

Where: Online Event, BlizzHeroes Twitch

Prize Pool: $5,000 per event. Each game in the best-of-five earns the winning team $1,000.

When: 

  • North America: Sept 15 – 3:00 p.m. PDT
  • Europe: Sept 29 – 10:00 a.m. PDT

Teams:

  • North America – Gale Force eSports and Denial eSports
  • Europe – Team Dignitas and Fnatic
