ANZ's own weekly tournament announced!

With the HotS scene in the ANZ region struggling to take hold due to a lack of competitive tournaments, Gamestah Media have announced the HotS Ember Series – a weekly, semi-pro league open to all Oceanic Heroes of the Storm teams.

The Ember Series will run on Tuesday evenings starting at 7:30PM AEST, consisting of a Swiss-format best-of 1 bracket with the grand final being a best-of 3 showdown. Up for grabs each week is an easy $50 alongside points towards the Plantronics MVP program, a monthly award given to the best players within the Gamestah competitive universe.

Initially Gamestah announced plans to host an invitational tournament, but due to the lack of teams within the ANZ region they have decided to head up their HotS campaign with an open tournament, designed to give teams an introduction into the scene alongside a regular competitive setting. “At Gamestah, we think HotS is like a sleeping giant; poke it a bit and it’ll wake up with a roar,” says Chris “Chrisis” McClement from Gamestah. “That’s our aim, and if things go well here we can expect our Fire vs Ice invitational series to really get the giants dancing.”
