Recap: Zenless Zone Zero 3.3 adds Phoenix, Severian, Halloween events, and more Sunbringer lore

Seth Lowell’s long-anticipated brother Severian is joining the fray.

HoYoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 "Journey to the Sky" Special Program livestream aired this week, diving into this upcoming patch’s two new Agents and story content. Additionally, the stream also confirmed Zenless Zone Zero’s two upcoming Agents crossing over from the world of Honkai: Star Rail: Kafka and Robin.

We’ll break down all the announcements below, but don’t forget to redeem this Special Program’s redemption code for in-game freebies: JRNY2SKY. This code is valid until 10 November, 2025.

What is Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3’s story about?

Phoenix and Severian feature heavily in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3’s new story update, with Severian and Phoenix finding each other in opposition. Phoenix is awaiting trial for her crimes, but both she and Severian find themselves dealing with a greater threat at Roscaelifer. This patch is looking to expand further on Sunbringer’s secretive origins, and the existence of the Enchainers.

Who are Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3’s new Agents?

Phoenix is an S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent. When Phoenix’s squad deals Attribute Anomaly damage, it will inflict Seer on the enemy. While Seer is active, Attribute Anomaly damage dealt to that enemy has potential to deal critical damage. Phoenix can also revive herself from battle, meaning that she has an extra life of sorts. She can use Combustion attacks to restore Pyre, a resource that can be consumed to deal massive damage as Phoenix throws her weapon at the enemy.

Severian is an S-Rank Wind Attack Agent. Severian wields a massive sword in battle and has a kit that revolves around building up “Flow,” a resource gained by dodging attacks in battle. When Severian enters the battle, he gains a stack of a resource called Shadowflash, which can be used to automatically evade enemy blows and deliver counterattacks. As for Flow, Severian can consume the resource by unleashing a massively-damaging attack against the enemy.

Severian will launch with an alternate Solemnly Impeccable skin, while Phoenix will launch with alternate The Illness Called Life and Daydream Complex skins.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3’s rerun banners

The first half of Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 will feature Phoenix and her W-Engine Plume of Rebirth. In the second half, Severian will be available alongside his W-Engine Incarcerating Grip. Both Agents will be available in the seasonal banner.

As for the rerun banners, Velina and Norma will be available to pull alongside their W-Engines in the first and second half, respectively.
