Team YL vs. DIG: Rematch

In a rematch, YL of China and DIG of Europe faced off to progress to the semi-finals versus rival, Na'vi.

Dignitas and YL faced off earlier in Group A with DIG coming out on top 2-1. With a few weeks of training, both teams battled again with semi-final positioning and a match versus Na'vi on the line. As in previous series of the day, warriors seemed to be of high concern to the teams. Tyrael and ETC have undoubtedly established themselves as the key tanks of BlizzCon. Both show high variability in play style as a tank, especially when deciding whether to stall or initiate fights.

Match Summary:

In game 1 DIG was allowed to have a near ideal composition with double tank (Johanna and Tyrael) and Bakery on Kharazim. YL continued to use ETC with a powerslide talent build to reach the fragile carries of DIG. DIG played a great strategy using Zagara creep and constant rotations in order to take a small, early advantage. After two Spider Queen spawns, YL regained momentum and held their ground against DIG's pressure. Despite this shift in momentum, DIG took two convincing fights through impressive Divine Palms out of Bakery and Maws from adrd and pushed for a victory in game 1.

DIG began the draft phase of game 2 with two of the strongest picks of the tournament: Uther and Tyrael. Both are strong in mitigating YL's high, single target damage and lockdown. Following this, DIG stole ETC as well to round out a much stronger draft than YL. The ETC used for DIG focused on Guitar Solo talents to build up sustain over the game. This is most likely because Uther is limited to burst healing for more fragile members of the team and ETC can sustain for himself.

On the battlefield: YL established control over the immortal throughout the early and middle game, but as DIG reached level 16, their damage output increased drastically and DIG began to inch back. Following a pickoff on Muradin, DIG took their first advantage of the game at level 20. A massive immortal summoned by DIG pushed into YL's base and took the first inner keep and balanced the match between the two teams. After an amazing Sanctification over a Ring of Frost and an eventual catch on Zagara, DIG took a large advantage and began to push with their immortal.

In a shocking play, both teams baited hearthstones and ended up jousting at YL's final inner keep. After a kill on Muradin, DIG pressed on for their 2-0 victory over YL.

Looking Forward:

DIG will progress to face Na'vi tomorrow in a European Finals rematch. Let us see if the European kings, Na'vi can be dethroned.
