Tempo Storm vs. Brave Heart: A clash of titans

Series 2 of the first night of the BlizzCon featured a complete upset of Tempo Storm by Brave Heart of China.

Contested warrior picks were a theme of Series 2 between NA favorite Tempo Storm and Brave Heart of China. Tyrael was chosen every game and netted a 100% win rate. Sanctification was chosen twice to mitigate burst damage heavy compositions. E.T.C. continued to be widely picked among Asian teams, typically focusing on Powerslide enhancing talents. In the end, Braveheart overtook Tempo Storm through solid teamfighting and strategy following level 20, including key picks like Tassadar to counter Zeratul in game 3.

The current bracket in Group B is as follows:

Match Summary:

Game 1 on Infernal Shrines featured Tempo Storm on a high sustain composition with a Malfurion healer and Tyrael with Sanctification to survive the high burst Brave Heart aimed for with both Jaina and Kael'thas. Tempo Storm showed complete control early in the game but as the game progressed to level 18, it became much more balanced. Brave Heart began to take fight after fight over Tempo Storm, but the initial damage TS had done on Brave Heart's base was too much. Over time, TS wittled Brave Heart down despite losing consecutive fights after level 20 due to Kael'Thas ignite spread.

In game 2 on Sky Temple, Tyrael was once again a quickly contested pick. This time, picked up by Brave Heart with a Judgement heroic choice to reach TS's backline. Surprisingly, TS chose a single warrior in Sonya, while supporting with both Uther and Tassadar. A Force Wall choice by Tassadar allowed for the isolation of Tyrael multiple times after he dove in and allowed TS to stay close to Brave Heart's experience lead throughout the game. Following a boss push and subsequent pick offs, Brave Heart pushed for the win.

Brave Heart took an interesting two tank (Tyrael and E.T.C.), two hybrid support (Tyrande and Tassadar) strategy to counter a Zeratul chosen for TS Zuna in game 3 on Dragon Shire. In a scrappy beginning, TS took a large lead with 5 to 1 kills by 3 minutes. Tempo Storm roamed as 4 while Kaeyoh confidently held top on Zagara using creep for control. Brightwing also showed to be great choice for TS Dreadnaught in preventing large rotations by Brave Heart and dampening the engage potential of both E.T.C. and Tyrael. After many trades in the tide of battle, Brave Heart took their first Dragon Knight and pressured bottom lane. A core dive pushed Brace Heart for the 2-1 victory over NA favorites Tempo Storm.

Looking Forward

Brave Heart will face Team DK of South Korea in the final match of the evening. After their strong showing against Tempo Storm, this should be the best match of the night.
