The COGnitive Gaming organization is about to get a new owner, which means uncertainty for their Heroes of the Storm team.
Currently the 4th best NA team according to our rankings, the team has the ambition to reach for the top with other top teams facing issues. The team to beat for them will be Cloud9 and the boys are certainly up for the challenge.
The players are currently putting hard work into being ready for the WCA qualifiers as well as any other tournament that can come their way. Winning WCA would be a great opportunity to face international competition and add to the so valuable LAN experience.
Full statement by COGnitive's Manager, Dylan "Dylux" Walker:
"The team has been informed that COGnitive is coming under new ownership at the end of the month. While there is still a small chance of re-signing with the org under it's new ownership, the team has reached an understanding with our current ownership to seek sponsorship opportunities in the meantime.
While our contracts expire on November 21st, we would like to say that we enjoyed our time with COGnitive and at the AFK Gamer Lounge, we appreciate everything they have done and provided for us over the past six months.
Looking to the future we are currently practicing feverishly for our upcoming WCA Qualifying match against Complexity, the esportsarena LAN rumored to be happening in Mid-Janurary, as well as any future events that Blizzard may or may not announce at Blizzcon or the weeks following.
Personally I want to say that I am very proud of my team for their results on the Road to Blizzcon, and I know that with or without a sponsor we are still the best contender in NA heading into next year, especially amid roster changes among the other top teams.
