Brave Ozone unable to come to Las Vegas, Furious Gaming is the replacement

Brave Ozone, the Brazilian team that confidently won the Copa America, had their visa applications rejected. Replacement team found in the form of Argentinian Furious Gaming.

Earlier this month, we reported on the Copa America Grand Finals. Similar to the EU and NA Opens, the Latin American scene had their own series of tournament that decided their representative in the Regional Championships. And the winner of the Copa America, and therefore the team that won a spot in the Regonal Championships in Las Vegas, was Brave Ozone.

Yesterday, however, we got word of yet another visa denial. It was reported on Brave e-Sports' Facebook page (Portuguese) that they were denied their visas and could therefore not come to the USA to participate in Las Vegas.

After the same thing happened for the MSI MGA tournament, an American team was called up to take the place of then missing eStar Gaming. Some of us were expecting the same thing to happen for the Regional Championships, which would make the prominence of NA even greater, while others were pessimistic about the chances of finding a replacement at all.

Well, today we received close to the best kind of news. Another Latin American team will be replacing Brave Ozone in Las Vegas, making sure that South America will still have a team to root for. Furious Gaming, the team that placed third in the Copa America Grand Finals, is confirmed to be playing. The fact that it will not be the second place finisher, CNB E-Sports Club, that will be participating might have something to do with scheduling issues or the fact that that team is also Brazilian and would also be unable to acquire the necessary visas.

We are now all set to be excited for this weekend, when Tempo Storm, Cloud9, COGnitive Gaming, compLexity Gaming, Murloc Geniuses, Immunity White, Relics and Furious Gaming will play for the most valuable stakes of two Blizzcon HWC tickets. Broadcasts will go live on the 19th of September at twitch.tv/blizzheroes.
