Genshin Impact 7.2 adds new 5-star Mitya and new 4-star Valeriy

Mitya

Mitya is an optimistic scientist with the courage to defy the Heavenly Principles and joins Genshin Impact's playable roster as a 5-star Electro Catalyst wielder.

While in the party, Mitya converts the team's Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions, boosting the entire party's Stellar-Conduct DMG while accumulating special energy. Pressing his Elemental Skill releases this energy to deal periodic Stellar-Conduct DMG to nearby enemies based on the amount stored, while holding the Skill consumes it to unleash a rapid flurry of enhanced Charged Attacks, enabling him to shift seamlessly between off-field and on-field roles. Mitya's Elemental Burst deals AoE Electro DMG and
generates additional special energy, sustaining his rotations through prolonged battles.

In certain areas of Snezhnaya, Mitya's detection device also helps players uncover hidden paths and unlocks a reward that can change his appearance.

Valeriy

Valeriy is a 4-star Electro Sword wielder and disciplined Major of the Armory Palace who provides shields and boosts Electro DMG, making him a more accessible option for Stellar-Conduct reaction teams.

Genshin Impact Version 7.2's first phase banner will feature the debuts of Mitya and Valeriy, alongside a rerun for Furina. The second phase will then feature reruns for Zibai and Linnea.

New Natlan Chronicled Wish banner

Genshin Impact Version 7.2 will also feature a new Chronicled Wish banner featuring characters from Natlan, alongside their signature weapons. The new Natlan Chronicled Wish banner features Varesa, Chasca, Xilonen, Mualani, and Kinich.

Genshin Impact 7.2's Snezhnaya Archon Quest sees the seven nations unite

The Genshin Impact Version 7.2 Snezhnaya Archon Quest sees the seven nations of Teyvat unite in a collective effort to avert the
destruction of civilization. As the energy fluctuations of the Nails of Retribution grow increasingly violent, mysterious pillars of light appear across Teyvat, heralding the onset of the Holy Soil phenomenon and plunging each nation into severe crisis. In response, the Tsaritsa has convened a historic gathering in Snezhnaya, summoning representatives from all seven nations to halt the impending catastrophe. The Traveler will join forces with the Archons Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Ei, and Mavuika, as well as the Hydro Sovereign Neuvillette and other allies across Teyvat to confront this unprecedented peril.

Completing the Archon Quest within the designated period grants players 560 Primogems and Character Ascension Materials for Mitya, while tackling the latest Secret Tsarist Assignments yields additional rewards, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.

Snezhnaya expands with new Novokitezhgrad region

As a result of the events in the upcoming Archon Quest, a new region in eastern Snezhnaya called Novokitezhgrad will be opened for exploration.

Novokitezhgrad is Snezhnaya's main producer of Kresnik Kristall, built entirely underground and encased in Kresnik Kristall, the subterranean city stands in stark contrast to the snow-covered world above. Braving the biting wind and snow, players can journey east to Wingspan Peak, which hosts Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya's first city that was founded by the Belyi Tsar.

Beyond exploration, players will help Snezhnaya confront the Holy Soil phenomenon unleashed by Ronova, utilizing new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns to neutralize the hazards of contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits while unearthing more of the
nation's past. Meanwhile, new Meeting Point quests follow Danica on a clandestine cleanup assignment for the Tsaritsa in Novokitezhgrad, and Mitya as he investigates the soil near Teplo Oasis; their separate paths destined to cross unexpectedly.

In addition, a colossal creature from the ocean depths also awaits challengers in Novokitezhgrad.

Genshin Impact 7.2 event slate

The flagship event for Genshin Impact Version 7.2 will be “The Grand Defense: Defy the Unjust Judgement”, which unites players with allies from Mondstadt to Snezhnaya in a coordinated stand against the Holy Soil phenomenon. Players will rescue wounded soldiers, relay critical intel, and carry out urgent assignments to contain the crisis. Completing event objectives grants Primogems, enhancement materials, and the chance to invite a 4-star character of their choice to their party.

Once the crisis has been averted, players can also look forward to more lighthearted events in “Frames of Fierce Splendor”, a filming event in Snezhnaya, and “Stress Block Smashing Project”, a mining challenge in Natlan. The “Ley Line Overflow” event will also make a return in Version 7.2 to help players acquire more enhancement materials.
