Reaffirming their number one spot in NA, Tempo Storm beat C9 Maelstrom 2-0 in the NA July Open.
It's not every day you see a team that is so far ahead of everyone else, it's almost like they're playing a different game altogether. That's what it was like to watch Tempo Storm today. Even when they seemed to falter, the slightest mistake was met with immediate retaliation and game ending pushes. It's clear that C9 Maelstrom has met their match, and the strange drafting from game number two didn't help. Without a dedicated support, or aggressive assassins, it wasn't apparent what they were trying to accomplish. Unfortunately for them, it didn't work.
Congratulations to Tempo Storm for another well earned victory. Having already qualified in June, Tempo Storm can't qualify again, meaning Cloud9 Maelstrom and COGnitive gaming have also qualified for the Road to Blizzcon Americas Championship.
