Following the first qualifier from Enter the Storm Cup #1 that took place on July 12th the tournament administrators have received feedback from some of the teams that took part.
Several team captains have approached the tournament organizers and proposed a minor change in the rules regarding how the map is chosen for Game 1.
The feedback has been carefully evaluated by the administrators and the following change is being done to the map selection process to make the qualifier rounds more interesting, dynamic and balanced in general.
Teams will be using www.heroesdraft.com/enterthestorm for their drafting and map selection and process is the following:
Game 1:
Random team gets first pick (unchanged)
The other team starts the map ban process. Both teams take turns banning maps until only one map is left. The remaining map is played in Game 1. (changed from - map for game 1 is chosen by the team that doesn't get the first pick).
This change is aimed at making the games in the qualifiers less dependent on the preference of one of the teams by allowing both teams to remove their least desirable maps from the pool.
In a BO3 and BO5 this change affects game one, with the rest of the series adhering to the rules already in place.
Game 2: (unchanged)
First pick changes hands
The map is chosen by the loosing team in Game 1
Game 3: (unchanged)
First pick changes hands
The map is chosen by the loosing team in Game 2
And so on for the BO5 scenario.
This minor change is in effect for all games for the remainder of Enter the Storm Cup #3 - qualifiers, double elimination groups and the finals.

The tournament organizers and administrators expess their thanks to all participating teams and will continue working closely with them to ensure that Enter the Storm Cup #3 is just as fun to play in as it is for all the viewers out there to watch.
