Blizzard announces an 80+ team open tournament happening the weekend of June 13-14.
Fifteen large is on the line this weekend as over eighty teams will compete in the Blizzard Heroes of the Storm North American Open. The action will be broadcast on community streams over the weekend starting at 12 PDT, June 13th. The winning teams will advance to play in a Round of 8 which will take place on June 20-21 and will be broadcast from the ESL Studios. The winner of open tournament will also be awarded a spot in the Heroes of the Storm World Championship.
Community Casters will include:
- Zoia and Unctious
- SolidJakegg and Huk
- FourCourtJester and Schamtoo
- Gillyweed and Anna Prosser Robinson
It will be interesting to see if any unknown teams will be able to qualify, as it is certain the top NA teams will be competing as well. If there was ever a time for a new team to carve out a name out of themself in the North American HOTS scene, it is now.
