Heroes of the Storm enters final alpha phase

Blizzards hero brawler is getting close to entering beta as the technical alpha is scheduled to go down end of this week, enjoy a lengthy maintenance and get back for its final phase when re-launched.

A few important changes will come to Heroes of the Storm in the next couple of weeks. Today, the ingame shop will be shut down and in order to compensate for that, all 29 heroes will be available for play while the feature is down. Later this week, the entire game will be brought down for more than a week of maintenance period.

Once the game is back online, all progress made by players will be erased, giving everyone a fresh start. This excludes real-money purchases, which will be restored to the players' Blizzard Balance. In addition, all players will be moved to their home region, which will lead to losing the current alpha friendlist but regaining the normal one. The good news here is that this will be the last planned account reset, so Heroes of the Storm users can comfortably farm and purchase heroes, skins or mounts, knowing they will not be erased in the future.

Blizzard are giving no information how long the final alpha phase will last, whether it will come with a new wave of invites or how far off closed/open beta phases are.
