The MYM team (ex-To Be Determined) appeared on HotS pro scene not so long ago, but demonstrated good game versus strong opponents like Roccat and Virtus Pro. I had the opportunity to ask the captain of MYM HotS team about their play style, teammates and plans for future matches. Also, I just had to ask them about the Murky strategy they used during some of their tournament games.
Your team was not very well known, but you won a lot of matches in last months with really tough opponents. How long had you been playing with your team before you won your first serious match?
Before our first serious match we played for about a week together. However, before our team was actually formed, I'd already played a significant amount of Hero League matches with Remmerballer. He and me had been interested in making a team for a while, but never really got to actualizing it until we just decided to aggregate a few people we knew. After that we just played some team league and entered a tournament, and to our surprise we managed to win it.
For sure we'll try to win everything even if the opponents are better and stronger!
Were you surprised at all about your big success in these tournaments?
Well to be honest, it does not feel like a big success. Sure we beat some good teams and once we won Go4Heroes but there are very good teams around and we never played against them. So we still have to figure out where we stand right now. And I was not very surprised because I know what we can if play our best.
Which games did you and your teammates play professionally before Heroes?
I played almost every moba on a high level (Dota, Heroes of Newerth, League Of Legends, Smite). But I never really tried to get into a competitive team until now. I did not choose Heroes, Heroes chose me. This game is so awesome. Compared to others mobas I enjoy HotS the most and that is one reason why I am willing to spend so much time on it. Secondly, my team greatly influenced on this decision as well. I see a lot of potential and it is fun to play with these guys.
Remmerballer played HoN and World of Warcraft. he still plays CS:GO awfully, along with other single player games.
Chacob was Diamond in League of Legends season 4 and 5.
bLaDe played Starcraft II in high masters and League for 2-3 years and was diamond.
Babeta played Dota 1 with some Minor Teams and won some local lan Events. Played HoN for some time.
When League came out he started a competitive Carreer with tt Dragons playing the Esl Pro Series. When Dota 2 came out he went back to the Dota.
Have you ever met any of your teammates in real life?
Not yet but i think this will be changed soon :)
Will you have a boot camp soon?
If we manage to qualify for a big tournament we will have one for sure.
What would you do together if you all met? Do you think you are friends already?
Well I guess we will play HotS together. Most likely at a boot camp. And we do have a lot of fun, so it feels like we are already friends. I can see that when 3 or 4 of us play Hero League, we do so many stupid jokes, banter and laugh so much.
I guess every day played with Remmer is a fun day. That guy is such a troll! Even if we lose I could not stop laughing, because he is so hilariously foolish sometimes.
Which of your tournament matches are you most proud of?
Our best game was against Virtus Pro with our Murky play.
With that Murky game - who was drafting? You?
Yes that was me. Mainly I do the draft but every teammate has impact on it.
Do you play with Murky a lot?
No we do not, but we knew that Murky is really good on this map and Virtus Pro had not the best heroes against Murky. Many people went crazy when we picked him, but i think still it was a decent pick there. To be honest, we played him once on mines at game versus in team league and this was our second try against Virtus Pro.
And the Murky madness begins! Your murky is so annoying! I think the hero is similar LoL's Teemo: everybody hates this little nasty thing.
I guess Murky is even more annoying. It is kind of simple, we knew they had Brightwing solo top. At least we expect that. And Murky is really good against Brightwing. Also against Jaina too. And at the same time you can use this lane advantage (because of the push) to rotate easily to Boss and this give your team also some space because you force your enemy to do something about Murky at the Boss.
What are your plans for next tournaments?
To play the best we can. And for sure we'll try to win everything even if the opponents are better and stronger!
