Xixo and Hoej defeated compLexity's SuperJJ and Crane in the finals, taking home $2.000.
Over the course of last week the third iteration of the Deck Gauntlet took place. Participating were some of the strongest European teams: Natus Vincere, SK Gaming, compLexity Gaming, ANOX and Virtus.Pro. The first two days the teams played in a Round Robin group stage. The two teams at the bottom at the end of the group stages then faced off against each other; the winner would advance and face whoever came in third. This process repeated until the lower bracket reached the team that came in first after the group stages. It was compLexity gaming that managed to fight its way up to the Grand Finals, where Na'Vi were awaiting them. In a tense match Na'Vi managed to defeat compLexity with a 2-0 score.
Even though the line-up of players was top level, the tournament received very little attention. At its peak, around 200 viewers were watching the players perform. The main reason for this was probably that the tournament was broadcast on Stream.me (one of the sponsors) rather than on Twitch. Additionally very little promotion was done in advance for the event, only being announced the Saturday before.
This is the last tournament Na'Vi's players will compete in as a team, since the eSports organization is dropping its entire roster at the end of September. Xixo and Hoej will still represent the team at PGL Bucharest next weekend.
