Viagame, the company behind DreamHack Summer's Hearthstone tournament, have announced their next foray into Hearthstone eSports with a standalone event - the Viagame House Cup. The event will feature sixteen players (eight invitees and eight open qualifiers) and will be broadcast live on Viagame.com on October 10-12 for a prize pool of $20,000.
Unlike many other tournaments, Viagame will be paying travel, food and accommodation costs for the sixteen players - however all sixteen will live in one house for the duration of the tournament. The house will be in Stockholm, Sweden and will play host to the sixteen players for the entire duration of the tournament with the matches also taking place inside the house.
Two 256 player qualifying tournaments will take place this month (September 12-14 and 20-21), with Viagame citing "ladder ranking and achievements" as entry criteria. More details on this will be released in due course.
Viagame have also promised that the tournament will feature a brand new, never before seen format for the finals, and be "different than any other tournament."
The eight invites have already been sent out, with the names of the invitees yet to be revealed.
