Rdu will get another shot at a WellPlayed championship after losing to TidesofTime in the first season
Amaz, Tides, Reynad, Trump, Rdu, Forsen - these are the names announced to take part in the HyperX Invitational hosted by WellPlayed Cup in a week from now. $3,000 are once again on the line for the taking.
Held two months ago, the first WellPlayed Cup was an all-invite double elimination tournament with eight notable names gathered together in a fight for $3,000. Now, WellPlayed in cooperation with HyperX are getting ready to launch the second edition which aims to take the best features of episode one and improve on them.
This time around, only six players will be invited to the tournament and the other two slots will be given to open qualifier's winners. Said preliminaries will be a 128-man Bo3 double elimination bracket played on the European server, the registrations for which are already open.
Additionally, the main event will have a few improvements as well. Class ban system has been implemented and in the grand finals, the player coming from the loser bracket must win two Bo5 to be the champion.
The event will be streamed August 23-24 and will be cast by Dan "Frodan" Chau on WellPlayed's Twitch stream. Stay tuned for the GosuGamers coverage hub.
