The Danish organisation Copenhagen Wolves extend a contract to Brent "Backspace" Kaskel who becomes the third member of their Hearthstone team, next to Firebat and Chacruna.
Copenhagen Wolves first ventured into Hearthstone a month ago when on July 5th the Danes picked up James "Firebat" Kostesich, at the time sitting at #13 worldwide and #7 in NA in our GosuRankings. The four empty cards in CPHW's announcement post hinted towards more recruitments to come and indeed it was so - ten days later, it was Priest expert Ander "DuckWingFACE" Thorgaard who became Wolves' second Hearthstone player.
According to sources who spoke to us at the time of Firebat's recruitment, Copenhagen Wolves had apparently signed a second Danish players other that DuckWingFACE so when a tweet by the organisation on August 2nd teased the announcement of Wolves' third player, we expected to see a Danish flag next to the player's name. Instead, the Danes revealed today that their third player will be none other than American Brent "Backspace" Kaskel.
A Pokemon TCG World Champion as well as background in other card games like Poker and Magic: The Gathering, a consistent ladder player and holding a high seed for BlizzCon's NA Qualifier, Backspace is also primarily known for his aggro Rogue deck, which gained popularity in the days before Naxxramas as a counter to Handlock and Miracle Rogues.
"After adding both a significant American player in "Firebat" and an extremely talented Danish one in "DuckWingFace", we once again turn to the other side of the pond for our next addition," wrote Copenhagen Wolves CEO Jakob Lund Kristensen. "Backspace brings much more to our team than just his talent playing Hearthstone, with his rich history in both Poker and Magic the gathering he has a unique approach and understanding of card games. We believe this addition will not only bolster our roster with his amazing performances but he will also be a massive asset for our other players in regards to deck crafting and tactics.
