Four days of eHL playoff action are behind us, the big day comes tomorrow. With only three players left in the competition, Singaporean Crea patiently waits in the Grand Finals for the winner between Wensushi and lemniscate.
So far the eHL season and the playoffs have been a tremendous success with gripping and intense matches, great storylines and two surprises making it into the “Championship Friday”. Tournament wildcards Lemniscate and Crea ruled their groups as well as their playoff branch and squared off today in the Upper Bracket Finals. For one the journey continued straight to the most prestigious game of this cycle while the other has to take the detour and face the “pressure test” of an elimination game.
The Philippine hope went down and his dream turned into a nightmare. None of his decks could really challenge Crea, who slew the trademark Warrior and Druid of the Filipino with his own Mid-range Druid. The only one preventing the full sweep and therefore the utter domination in the Upper Bracket Finals was Thrall, who once again came through for lemniscate in the clutch.
Unfortunately the reign of [card]Doomhammer[/card] only lasted for one game – a bad win ratio for the deck compared to its miraculous comeback against Derikku just a day earlier. Crea who went for the Shaman mirror and spent the late game flirting with minor hit points came through with lemniscate playing a bit greedy. The finishing touch came with [card]Leeroy Jenkins[/card] delivering brutal damage, [card]Tinkmaster Overspark[/card] clearing the taunt and Devilsaur sweeping away the last hit points on the old Orc Shaman.
As Crea moves to the Grand Finals, lemniscate faces off with ManaSurge’s very own Wensushi – one of the favorites heading into these playoffs. One of the interesting things in this match could be the nerves of either competitor. Wensushi, who dropped to the Lower Bracket immediately, has now gathered plenty of experience in pressure situations an elimination match brings to the table. Even though the first LB clash with Bojangy fell through due to the budget king pulling out of the tournament, Wensushi had to overcome Derikku and iMpunity’s Trinity to come this far
The psychological advantage is definitely with the ManaSurge player who just recently played and won the Hearthstone Alley Tournament: Tough Cookie against some of the best eHL and HAT Singapore players, solidifying his position as one of the premier Hearthstone stars of the region. Tomorrow his chance to pull one step closer to complete stardom is blocked by an angry [card]Grommash Hellscream[/card] and a motivated lemniscate.
