Crimson Desert
Release Date: 19 March, 2026
Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, macOS, GeForce Now, Microsoft Windows, Mac operating systems
Developer: Pearl Abyss
What are the new mounts in Crimson Desert
This patch focuses on expanding the mount lineup and refining movement. Five new mounts can now be unlocked by meeting specific conditions, which Pearl Abyss has carefully detailed in a drop-down menu to avoid spoilers.
The new mounts in Patch 1.01 are:
- Legendary Animals: White Bear, Silver Fang, Snowwhite Deer
- Boss’ Mounts: Rock Tusk Warthog, Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex
Developers highlighted that the people of Pywel are unafraid of tamed animals, so you can travel through towns on these mounts with no concern. If you had already captured any of the Legendary Animals before this patch, the corresponding reward will be granted retroactively in the "Extra Rewards List" when you log in.
Movement improvements are added to smooth player and horse motion, with sprint mechanics refined and flight stamina reduced. Aerial Stab and other aerial skills have also been rebalanced to prevent exploits.
QoL changes take up Patch 1.01
Patch 1.01 primarily targets quality-of-life improvements and balance adjustments, addressing early player complaints regarding difficulty, controls, and inventory management.
Pearl Abyss has also streamlined certain parts of gameplay to ease players’ journey. One of them is the new “Make Now” function, allowing recipes to be cooked or crafted instantly. In combat, pets will stay closer to the player, and certain enemies and bosses no longer attack immediately after revival, giving players a crucial window to reposition and plan their next move.
Patch 1.01 brings a wealth of minor but meaningful changes that significantly improve player experience. Pearl Abyss is continuing to refine Crimson Desert, and we can expect further tweaks and new content following the game’s release just two weeks ago.
