Our very own Radoslav "Nydra" Kolev sat down with RDU shortly before the quarterfinals, where RDU met his practice partner Forsen.
It's probably going to be a Rogue fest because you guys are very fond of the class, are you going to ban each other? You know the classes (Rogue)?
It depends. I will start as always, banning Hunter, but that's not a secret anymore. Afterwards it all depends on what he's going to ban and what he's going to pick.
This format at Viagame Cup is awesome, it's probably the best format i ever played.
Many players actually think this will become the next standard for western tournaments and replace like the four decks one ban formats.
I think it's a better format, but there's a problem with this format: It takes a lot of time to play, because you have to play Best-of 7s, Best-of 9s etc. It can take a lot of time, but you can see the real skill in this format.
But it will not be a format that is used in all the tournaments because of time. If you go to a Top 16 or Top 8 this is probably the best format.
You are actually competing with Kolento in our rankings for the Top 2 in Europe; we talked to a lot of players and many actually consider him to be the perfect player with almost no flaws. He's a good deckbuilder and a good deckpilot, so looking at Kolento what do you think about him?
He's a really good deckbuilder but I think he makes mistakes, like he makes more mistakes than me sometimes.
He's a really good player but I think I can beat him. When we played the showmatch I lost because of RNG mostly. He deserved to win, but he had a lot of RNG in the Shaman games. He made a Shaman comeback three games in a row, which I don't think will happen now, because the meta balances itself and you have to think much more about the matchups and how to play the format.
What do you think about how Europe is represented in the world finals?
I think we are well represented by Kolento, but I don't think that an unknown player will win Blizzcon, like somebody that never won another tournament before.
Do they lack too much experience?
Yeah. Experience will matter, there will be a lot of pressure on them and they will play a little bit worse. For example we can see that at every cup, here we have like 50/50 between invitations and qualifiers and we can see that the qualifiers are not doing the best job. The pressure is really huge sometimes and it matters a lot. You need to know how to handle it, stay chill and just focus on your game and even then you can still lose.
Do you think NA will do better? Because they have more experienced players like Strifecro and also good players like Teirei and Firebat?
Theoretically yes, but Europe has Kolento. Probably Kolento will just win Blizzcon I think.
