Five Nights at Freddy’s is among the rumoured collaborations for the upcoming Fortnitemares in Fortnite.
Epic Games has unveiled the return of Fortnite’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares, which is set to launch on Thursday, 1 October, making it the event’s earliest start yet.
The publisher posted the official look of this year’s Fortnitemares logo, accompanied by the message: “Nitemares do come true.” The image also revealed this year’s official slogan: “The game is cursed.”
Fortnitemares, Fortnite's Halloween event that began in 2017, has seen numerous iconic horror-themed collaborations arrive in the battle royale. Last year, franchises and characters including Wednesday Addams, Ghost Face from Scream, and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th joined the game.
This year's Fortnitemares is kicking off much earlier than previous editions, with the 2025 event starting on 9 October and the 2024 edition beginning on 12 October. With the event potentially running for a full month, we could see a stacked lineup of crossovers from across the entertainment industry.

What are the rumoured Fortnitemares 2026 crossovers?
Prominent Fortnite creator and Epic Games partner, HYPEX, has listed several rumoured collaborations, including some that its labels as “confirmed”. These include the fantasy anime Black Clover, League of Legends and 99 Nights in the Forest. The latter was among the earliest confirmed collaborations for Fortnite’s Override season, having been featured in the official reveal last month.

The popular horror franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s, which centres around possessed animatronics, could be included in Fortnitemares. Last night, on 23 September, its official account posted a mysterious teaser featuring Freddy’s silhouette against a glitchy TV background. The teaser was notably posted four hours after Fortnitemares’ announcement.
Previously, dataminers also uncovered game files that were allegedly related to FNaF, further fuelling speculation about a potential crossover.
A FNaF crossover would be a major addition to Fortnite, considering the horror franchise has only made one major crossover with Dead by Daylight. The collaboration was reportedly the game’s most requested licence in DbD’s history.
According to HYPEX, James Keaton, who plays Jack the Clown, and WWE’s Danhausen have also shared the Fortnitemares announcement, potentially teasing their involvement in this year’s event.
