Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake rumours heat up, as new domain surfaces

Fans spotted a website that could confirm the long-rumoured Black Flag revival

For years, players have hoped for a modernised version of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag that might bring Edward Kenway’s high seas journey to current-generation consoles. That hope has been revitalised once again after a newly-registered domain appeared online, which has fans convinced that Ubisoft could be preparing a full remake of the fan-favourite pirate adventure.

The domain was first highlighted on Twitter by Assassin’s Creed News, an unofficial fan account tracking all things Assassin’s Creed.

The Black Flag remake hunt continues

The URL "assassinscreedblackflagresynced.com" aligns with the title hinted at in a PEGI age rating that briefly appeared online before being removed. Fans quickly jumped on the news, speculating about potential gameplay improvements, naval updates, and the return of Kenway’s pirate adventures.

Registered through Gandi, a French registrar Ubisoft has used before for projects like Assassin’s Creed: Shadows and Mirage, the domain was both created and last updated on 9 December 2025.

The first hints of a potential Assassin’s Creed remake came from voice actors and even toy makers, sparking early speculation. That was followed by a PEGI age rating that briefly appeared online before being pulled. Now the domain registration continues to add fuel to the fire.

While Ubisoft has not officially confirmed ownership, the combination of the registration and prior leaks makes this domain a strong signal that the Black Flag revival could be real.

Rumours suggest the remake could launch before the end of March 2026, giving Ubisoft limited time to make an official announcement. Whether the publisher opts for a traditional reveal, or a stealthy surprise similar to Oblivion Remastered, fans are ready to set sail.

With the domain now public, fans are on the lookout for any further developments related to Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Pirates, assassins, and gamers alike are monitoring Ubisoft’s horizons for an official announcement.
