NAVI Junior qualify for The International 2025 through the Western European qualifier

NAVI Junior were among a group of Eastern European teams that attempted to qualify for TI 2025 by moving to Western Europe.

Natus Vincere (NAVI) Junior have qualified for The International (TI) 2025 after they defeated  OG, 2-1, in the upper bracket quarterfinals of the tournament's Western European qualifier on Tuesday (17 June).

NAVI Junior have been one of the most exciting up-and-coming teams this year, surpassing their organisation's main roster despite being the academy team. The team featured Ukrainian prodigies Taras “gotthejuice” Linnikov, Artem “Niku” Bachkur, Yurii “pma” Prots, and Stanislav “Riddys” Mitroshkyn under the leadership of veteran captain Bakyt “Zayac” Emilzhanov.

NAVI Junior were among a group of Eastern European teams that attempted to qualify for TI 2025 by moving to a different region, earning a spot in the Western European regional qualifier through the open qualifiers. With Aurora Gaming essentially guaranteed to win the Eastern European qualifier, and doing so in dominant fashion, many of the lesser teams in the region rerouted to the Western European qualifier to take advantage of its additional slot and the relatively weaker competition there.

As one of the open qualifier teams, NAVI Junior started the Western European qualifier in the first round of the upper bracket, and needed to win three matches to get in position for a spot in TI 2025. NAVI Junior swept fellow Eastern European squad Yellow Submarine, then defeated Nigma Galaxy and 1win Team in back-to-back 2-1 series to advance to the upper bracket finals.

Meanwhile, OG were seeded directly to the upper bracket quarterfinals, then proceeded to sweep Team Secret and 4Pirates to face NAVI Junior for a spot in TI 2025.

OG struck first in the upper bracket finals with a comfortable 41-minute win, but NAVI Junior were quick to respond with a 28-minute stomp in game two to force the series to a decider. In game three, NAVI Junior dominated OG in 33 minutes of action to secure the first of two spots in TI 2025 for Western Europe.

With their victory in the Western European regional qualifier, NAVI Junior will join Eastern European qualifier winner Aurora Gaming, South American qualifier winner HEROIC, Chinese regional qualifier winner Xtreme Gaming, North American regional qualifier winner Wildcard, and Southeast Asian qualifier winner Team Nemesis among the teams to have successfully fought for their way to a spot in TI 2025.

Two more spots in TI 2025 remain up for grabs, one each for Western Europe and Southeast Asia through the last two rounds of their respective qualifier's lower brackets. OG, Nigma Galaxy, and Yellow Submarine will be fighting for the final spot in Western Europe, while Talon Esports, BOOM Esports, and Execration are the last three teams in contention in Southeast Asia.

The winners of the TI 2025 regional qualifiers will join eight directly-invited teams in this year's Dota 2 world championship tournament. The direct invite teams include defending TI champions Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, Team Falcons, and Gaimin Gladiators from Western Europe; PARIVISION, BetBoom Team, and  Team Spirit from Eastern Europe; as well as All Gamers Global (formerly Team Tidebound) from China.
