The new team Old G will bring together three previous OG champions along with fan favorites from EEU and NA.
After the rumors have been circulating for some time now, the Dota 2 team registration page confirms the creation of Old G, including two time, back-to-back TI champions Sebastien 'Ceb' Debs, Johan 'N0tail' Sundstein, Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen. The trio will be playing alongside NA player Arif 'MSS' Anwar and EEU veteran Vladimir 'Noone-' Minenko.
The team will need to go through the open qualifiers to find a spot to start the season in Division II. From there, they can work their way up to Division I for the Spring season and start working on their DPC points and a place at The International 2023.
Which poses for an interesting situation. Assuming that the OG roster fairs well enough to gain a spot at TI, if Old G does well enough too, then at least Notail and Ceb will need to offload their connections and financial investment in OG.
Per Valve rules
Can teams from the same organization play in the same Regional League?
Yes - However, as in previous years, only one team from an organization can qualify for The International. If two teams from the same organization qualify for The International, that organization must either remove all of their ties to one of the teams, or only the top team will be eligible.
But that is a bridge to be crossed closer to the time most likely. For now, the focus is on fan hype and getting through the open qualifiers.
