Wildcard pull off the upset to eliminate Polaris in Last Chance Qualifier

Wildcard Gaming 2:0 Polaris Esports in the Last Chance Qualifier to keep their TI 2022 dreams alive.

Only one team from the Americas has made it out through the first day of eliminations in the Last Chance Qualifier — Wildcard Gaming.

Tempest and Infamous were the first two teams to drop earlier in the day. Then it was Nouns. But Wildcard Gaming refused to follow suit.

The North American team is looking composed and much more polished than most fans (and probably teams) imagined. They started out at a disadvantage in both games but they kept it together, made it through with clutch moments, executed some good gameplay, and coordinated team fights well.

Although the Tide Hunter draft may have let Polaris down in both games and potentially from being tired after having had to play earlier in the day in the Upper Bracket against Team Liquid, in the end, they did fall short.

Wildcard Gaming will now face off against ViCi Gaming tomorrow at 07:00 CEST.

Only two teams will survive the battle and advance to the group stage of The International 2022 which begins on Saturday, October 15th.
