TSM FTX donate $16,350 to CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund

TSM FTX Dota 2 team donated all the prize pool earned at GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022 to CARE’s Ukraine Crisis Fund and their initiative was matched in money by the organization.

TSM FTX made their LAN debut this week at GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022. For the organization, this marked the first LAN tournament in the Dota 2 space while for the players, who in the past year fought under the Team Undying tag, the event in Dubai was their first LAN after TI 10.

Despite coming to Dubai as the top North American team of the moment, courtesy of their first place finish in the recently concluded NA Regional Finals, where they overcame both Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew, TSM FTX fell short in the play-in stage at GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational 2022.

Unfortunately for them, the only victories in Dubai were over Fnatic, which they defeated twice in the group stage to make it to the play-ins. Their elimination came at the hands of Team Secret who sent them packing in the top eight with $8,176 earned for their effort.

Soon after they got eliminated from the event, the entire TSM FTX Dota 2 team decided to donate the prize pool money to CARE’s Ukraine Crisis Fund which aims to reach 4 million dollars in donations to be used for “immediate aid and recovery, food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance - prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly.”

I’ve been in Ukraine multiple times because of Dota events and the people there are nothing short of amazing. Their resilience during these testing times are truly inspirational and we as a Dota team wanted to show our support. Slava Ukraini - TSM FTX captain David “MoonMeander” Tan Boon Yang via Twitter

Matching their team’s wish, the organization raised the donation to a total of $16,350.

TSM FTX are not the only team to donate their earnings from GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022 to help the Ukrainian nation during the Russian invasion, which began on February 24. Team Spirit have already announced that they will be donating their entire winnings to the International Red Cross.

Team Spirit have, so far, secured a top 4 finish in Dubai by eliminating OG yesterday, and later today they will fight against the winner of BOOM EsportsvsTeam Secret for a shot at reaching the lower bracket finals.
