Undying and Quincy Crew in pole position to qualify for the DPC Major from North America

Undying and Quincy Crew top Division I of the NA DPC League with a 4-0 score, putting them in pole position to qualify for the first DPC Major.

The rosters for majority of the top teams in the NA DPC might have changed, but the teams vying for the two coveted DPC Major spots remain the same. Evil Geniuses, Quincy Crew, Undying and 4Zoomers are the teams that most would expect to finish in the top four positions in Division I of the NA DPC League. Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew have claimed the two spots in the past two seasons (with Undying coming very close both times), but this time, it seems like a bit of a different story.

As we head into the break, the table shows Undying and Quincy Crew at the top with a score of 4-0. Once the teams are back from the break in the first week of January, these will be the two teams to beat if anyone hopes to leap over them to secure a DPC Major slot.

Quincy Crew went through a major roster change after their TI10 journey, keeping on only Quinn “Quinn” Callahan and Yawar “Yawar” Hassan. But even with the new roster in place, the team looks strong and ready to keep up their ways of qualifying for DPC Majors.

Undying on the other hand, were one of the very few TI10 teams who stuck with the same roster. The five players have played together for nearly a year and have a good understanding amongst each other. They picked up where they’d left off and hit the ground running once the first DPC season 0f 2021-2022 started.

It would be a perfect story for these two teams, if it weren’t for the wounded NA beast, that is Evil Geniuses. Evil Geniuses made a couple of changes to their roster as well, the biggest one being brining Jesse “Jerax” Vainikka out of retirement to lead them into the new Dota 2 year. But after shock defeats against Black N Yellow and Wildcard Gaming, EG have their work cut out for them when teams return from break on the 5th of January 2022.

Undying and Quincy Crew have played and defeated 4Zoomers, but EG are yet to play against them. None of the three teams – Evil Geniuses, Quincy Crew and Undying – have played against each other, which is definitely by design, and will make for an enthralling finish to Division I of the NA DPC League. If Evil Geniuses are to have a chance to make it to the first DPC Major of the year, they will have to pull out their best Dota 2 and take down their two biggest rivals, and even then, there is a good chance we might be heading into a tiebreaker to decide who will be representing NA at the Major. Either ways, this is one league to keep an eye out for once the break ends, because it is bound to go down to the wire!
