MDL Chengdu Major Group Stage reaches an end

Yesterday, DOTA 2 fans witnessed TNC Predator, Invictus Gaming, Vici Gaming and Team Liquid reach the upper bracket and now they’re joined by four more.

Teams from the North America region put together a notable day 2 in China. Fighting Pandas, Evil Geniuses and J.Storm all earned positions in the upper bracket of the Main Event. Alliance chimed in to grab an upper bracket birth as well.

The remaining teams have been relegated to the lower bracket where they will all need to endure a grueling best-of-one series. Most surprising would be Gambit. The CIS team recently finished in second place at ESL One Hamburg 2019, very nearly taking the Grand Finals from TNC Predator. However, they’re now on the brink of elimination following an abysmal start to the Major and within a group where most viewers would perceive them as favorites.

Also, with a commendable appearance was the South Americans, beastcoast. Regardless of falling to the lower bracket, beastcoast overpowered Gambit Esports before succumbing to J.Storm in a contested series.

The main event starts tomorrow, November 18.
