Virtus.pro top the Boston Major European qualifiers group

One CIS, one Greek, one European, and Team Secret make it into the next stage of the Boston Major European qualifiers.

After a perfect run through the first day of the group stage, Team Secret stumbled a bit on the second day and lost two of their games. One loss to Virtus.proand one to Alliance cost them the top seed for the playoffs. Virtus.pro on the other hand had an amazing day two, winning all their encounters, thus fetching the first place in the group and the luxury of choosing their first opponents in the double elimination playoffs bracket.

The Greeks from Ad Finem are the pleasant surprise of the European brawl as they secured the playoffs over the much more experienced Alliance, Na`Vi, and Vega Squadron. Tied with Team Liquid with six wins and three losses, Ad Finem will continue their journey to their first ever Valve event by meeting Team Secret first.

The disappointing results of some of the teams from these qualifiers have immediate consequences. Kaipi, who didn’t pass the open qualifiers, announced the are disbanding, and WehSing 'SingSing' Yuen let his fans know this was his one last ride as he decided to "quite pro Dota Forever”. More about SingSing’s decision can be found on his interview for Dotablast

The European qualifiers playoffs will commence in less than eight hours, day one schedule being as follows:

October 29, 09:00 CEST Virtus Pro vs Team Liquid
October 29, 12:30 CEST Team Secret vs Ad Finem
October 29, 16:00 CEST TBD vs TBD - lower bracket elimination series
