The Russians easily beat FURIA while the Americans needed an extra round to beat NIP.
The first half of the PGL Major Antwerp quarter finals is over, and we have the first two semi-finalists. In the two matchups in the quarterfinals, we saw Team Spirit go against FURIA, while FaZe Clan met up with Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The first match was FaZe Clan versus Ninjas in Pyjamas. The two teams played the full three rounds to see who would head into the semi-finals. The match started on Nuke, where NiP took the lead up to the switch in the middle of the round, and then FaZe just took over the narrative as they easily played back-to-back wins up to round 25, giving them the first win.
In Overpass, it was NiP’s turn as the two teams went head-to-head up to the switch at round 15, but NiP then pushed to their advantage and grabbed the win with a little bit of effort.
Unfortunately, that round seems to sap NiP of their momentum, as Inferno started. NiP led the charge, but by round 6 FaZe equalised the playing field. NiP tried to claw back but by round 11, they seemed to have run out of steam and FaZe effortlessly strolled past the Swedish team to win the map 16-8 by the end of the 24th round.
FaZe Clan wins 2-1.
Team Spirit

FURIA
Team Spirit, the unlikely plucky team has led in the points table throughout the whole tournament so far. While they were in the middle of the pack during the Challengers Stage, they leapt to the front of the pack in Legends, securing themselves in the Champions Stage.
In the quarterfinals, their opponent is FURIA from Brazil. In Vertigo, the two teams were evenly matched in the first half of the map up to the switch, then Spirit became the aggressor and easily trumped FURIA to win the first map.
The story was similar to the second map, Ancient. While the two were evenly matched in the first half, the second half saw Spirit just dominating the Brazilians and eventually Spirit won the map 16-8.
Team Spirit won 2-0.
The next half of the Quarter Finals will see ENCE go against Copenhagen Flames, and Heroic go up against Natus Vincere to see which pair will be in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Team Spirit will be meeting FaZe Clan in the semi-finals to book their place in the Grand Final round.
