G2 Esports and OpTic Gaming defeat Team EnVyUs and Heroic respectively to advance to the Grand final.

The $100,000 prize pool tournament began on November 10th with eight teams fighting in their groups for a spot in the semi-final.

The groups were as follows:

Group A*Group B
Denmark HeroicFrance EnVyUs
France G2 EsportsCanada OpTic Gaming
United States Team LiquidEurope NRG
Canada compLexityUnited States Counter Logic Gaming

*Teams are ordered according to their final placements.

In Group A, Heroic and G2 advanced to the winners' match fairly easily, Heroic were the winner after an intense 30-round match on Nuke. G2 followed the Danes to the semi-finals by defeating Liquid 2-1 in the decider match of the group.

Both EnVyUs and OpTic Gaming destroyed their opponents in their opening matches. Then EnVy defeated OpTic to secure their spot in the semi-finals. At the opposite end of the group, NRG and CLG were battling to gain a second chance in the group. NRG emerged victorious after besting CLG in two maps, one of which, Overpass, went to overtime. Despite their boosted confidence, Fatih "gob b" Dayik's team failed to put in a good performance as they grabbed just fourteen rounds in two maps.

After the group stage, group leaders were drawn against second placed teams in the semi-final:

France EnVyUsvs.    France G2 Esports
Denmark Heroicvs.    Canada OpTic Gaming

The first semi-final match set EnVyUs against G2. Richard "shox" Papillon and co. picked Overpass as the first map and dominated it in the first half as they were leading 11-4 at half time. The tide turned after the halftime, now it was EnVy's turn to overcome the defenders. The second half ended with the same half score as the first one, 11-4 in favour of the terrorists, making the map go to the overtime. In the overtime, G2 were the better performing team and thanks to Papillon's triple-kill when it was 21-18, they grabbed the map.

The second map was Nuke, the most-played map of the tournament at that point with. EnVyUs picked up six rounds as the T side, gaining a fair chance of map victory but G2 played amazing CS as Terrorist on Nuke with every single player in the roster contributing and won the map 16-9 to advance to the grand final.

Heroic's first place result in the group stage didn't help them versus OpTic. The first map was OpTic's pick Cache and the North American team won both halves to close it out 16-10. The second map, Mirage, was so close until the halftime where Heroic were leading by just one round. In the second half though the Danish side defended the bombsites solidly and gave away only a single round to make it 1-1 in the series with a score of 16-8 in the map.

The teams switched to Cobblestone to decide the finalist. OpTic, starting as the T side, didn't show mercy to their Danish opponents and won the half 11-4. Grabbing the second pistol round made the things even easier for Tarik "tarik" Celik and his team. Heroic, despite trying desperately, weren't able to breach OpTic defences in any of the rounds. As a result, OpTic won the map and the series 16-4 and 2-1 respectively.

The victors of the semi-finals are going to clash for the lion's share of $100k prize pool this night at 02:30 CEST. The Grand Final wil be streamed on Northern Arena Twitch channel.
