Update brings major map changes
This week's CS:GO update brought a plethora of changes to three active duty maps: de_cobble, de_cache, and de_mirage. The medieval themed map saw the biggest change with inclusion of a large staircase on the end of B long. For a full list of changes in the patch, check out our summary of it here.
Liquid brings back s1mple
The Ukrainian star will be returning to Liquid as a stand-in, the North American team revealed this week, taking the spot of Eric "adreN" Hoag's position as a dedicated rifler while they search for a permanent replacement. s1mple will play with Team Liquid for their next two tournaments, ESL One Cologne and the Season 1 ECS offline finals.
Copenhagen Wolves shuts down
The Danish organization announced this week that they will be shutting down all three of their esports teams after Copenhagen Wolves founder Jakob Lund Kristensen decided to focus his efforts on other projects. This leaves their CS:GO roster free to search for a new home, and the team has stated that they plan to stick together until then.
SKYLLA groups finalised
This month's SKYLLA edition is well underway, and this week the tournament organisers released the group draw for the current team lineup for the event. SKYLLA, unlike other tournaments, features an equal mix of female and male teams to fill out the sixteen slots. Those sixteen teams (excluding four who have yet to be decided through qualification) have now been divided up into four groups of four, which through the group stage will determine who moves on to the playoffs.
Kinguin signs D&G
The online game retailer has secured the services of a CS:GO team this week after an almost ten month hiatus from the scene, bringing in Dobry&Gaming's Polish roster. The team has played under a number of notable banners, including G2 eSports and Lounge Gaming, as well as landing a number of impressive finishes at major tournaments.
