Universal Studios Japan reveals Licker popcorn bucket from Resident Evil Requiem collab

Meet the popcorn bucket that licks right back.

Universal Studios Japan has revealed a rather interesting-looking popcorn bucket, coinciding with its upcoming Resident Evil Requiem x Halloween Horror Nights collaboration. The popcorn bucket takes the form of the Licker, an iconic Resident Evil monster that first appears in Raccoon City.

The Licker popcorn bucket can be purchased with miso-flavoured popcorn packed in. That is, if you’re feeling peckish enough to reach inside a, and I cannot emphasise this enough, Resident Evil Licker, just to grab a morsel.

How to get Licker popcorn bucket at Universal Studios Japan

Universal Studios Japan is known to offer creative popcorn buckets that double as both collectibles and food containers. For example, Super Nintendo World–a mini-theme park located inside Universal Studios Japan–has offered a Mario Kart popcorn bucket and a Super Star popcorn bucket for avid fans of the franchise in the past.

The theme park is producing a similar collectible popcorn bucket for its upcoming Halloween Horror Nights event this year, which runs from 11 September, 2026 to 8 November, 2026. The popcorn bucket is specifically themed after Halloween Horror Nights’ Resident Evil Requiem collaboration, which includes an exclusive attraction, a new variety of merchandise, and more.

The popcorn bucket was revealed earlier today, and has already taken the Resident Evil fandom by storm thanks to its novel design. The bucket is shaped like a Licker–a monster which also appears in Resident Evil Requiem to once again haunt Leon S. Kennedy. It can be attached to a strap hanging around the wearer’s shoulders, thus appearing as if it is crawling down a wall vertically–as it often does in the games.

The head of the Licker can be opened so buyers can consume the miso-flavoured popcorn packed into the bucket. Typically, the park also allows you to package the popcorn separately, in case you want to leave the actual bucket untouched. More food is also set to be introduced for this Resident Evil collaboration, with more details to be released at a later date.

The popcorn bucket will launch on 9 September, 2026.

Resident Evil x Universal Studios Japan 2026 merchandise

This year marks Resident Evil’s 30th anniversary, and Universal Studios Japan is producing a new batch of merchandise to mark the occasion. These new items will please longtime Resident Evil 2 fans in particular, as they are themed after the iconic Raccoon Police Department.

These items include a button-up shirt emblazoned with the Raccoon Police Department (R.P.D.) logo, and a three-in-one carry-on bag, respectively. The latter bag functions as a waist pouch, a shoulder bag, and a chest bag. Both items will be available for purchase at the park’s Cinema 4-D Store.

Universal Studios Japan x Resident Evil Requiem attraction “The Dive”

The big ticket item of Universal Studios Japan’s Resident Evil Requiem is a brand-new attraction called The Dive. Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive is a horror maze that takes players through Wrenwood Hotel and Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center from the original game, where they can watch Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft fight for their lives against Lickers and the monstrous Girl.
