The newest season of SLTV StarSeries is all set to start tomorrow with the first European matches in a totally revamped format.
StarLadder has prepared a lot of innovation for their fourteenth season of StarSeries. A whole new format has been presented and the event will also expand to America and China. The prize pool has been boosted to $200,000 and will be divided between the top eight finalists of the LAN portion.
In the online event, we will see a total of three divisions, one for each region, namely - Europe, North American and China. The top five teams from the Europe, top two teams from America and the best team from China will meet in Minsk, Belarus. The LAN finals are scheduled for January 13-17 and will be held at one of the most modern, multi-functional buildings in Europe, Minsk Arena, with a capacity of 18,000 seats.

The European division will be the first to kick-off the new season and it is scheduled to start tomorrow with the first group stage matches. The European division will see two stages and a last chance tournament, where only the top five teams will secure a spot at the LAN finals.
The first stage will see a total of sixteen teams distributed into four groups. The format is set to round robin with a best of three matches. The top two teams will move on to the next stage, while the bottom two teams will be eliminated from the further competitions. The second group stage will see two groups with four teams. The top two teams from the both groups will go directly to the LAN finals, while the bottom two teams will have another attempt at earning their place for the LAN finals at the Last Chance Tournament.

The Last Chance Tournament will use a single-elimination bracket format with best-of-three matches. Four teams will be seeded and only the winner will earn the fifth European spot for the LAN finals.
