The first map of this semifinals series was de_train, a map which the outcome can be hard to predict due to its recent introduction back into the competitive map pool. Cloud9 had a very strong showing on their CT side, perhaps revealing a lack of T side strategic preparation from EnVyUs. Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham in particular had a strong first half, taking advantage of the map's numerous long range angles. Coming into their T side with a 10:5 lead, Cloud9 comfortably closed out the map 16:8 in a dominant fashion.

On de_cobble, the North Americans continued their momentum, taking the first pistol round on the T side and ensuing rounds. nV replied by handily winning the first gun round, with next rounds going back and forth between the two teams, neither of them allowing the other to build momentum and economy. In the tenth round, however, EnVyUs' money finally ran dry, but after an eco round to recover, they managed to stablize for a short time. However, Cloud9's repeated force buys forced the French team back on eco, leaving EnVyUs down again on a 10:5 half. nV's fate seemed sealed with the North Americans taking the second pistol round, but nV wouldn't go down without a fight, taking a few force buy wins that left C9 short on money on multiple occassions, bring the match to overtime. C9 went 2:1 on the CT side, but nearly lost on T side, however, an incredible ace round from Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert allowed the Americans to close out the map 19:17 and taking the series 2-0.
