The second edition of the Gfinity Spring Major goes to the playoffs as the top four teams of the group stage are now known.
The second edition of Gfinity Spring Major featured an increased number of teams where they were distributed into the two groups. These groups were played in a home and away system with best-of-two matches and we could see some real upsets during the first two days.
The two Swedish giants, Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas, were placed into the group A alongside with Natus Vincere, VOX EMINOR and Team Liquid. Although this was looking as an easy task on the paper for these two, it turned out to be more harder than they could expect. VOX was the most pleasant surprise of this group, taking one map against everyone but Na'Vi. Fnatic was struggling out as they started off with two draw matches, where they finally managed to take down Na'Vi for their first win of the group. On the other hand NiP had the same score as Fnatic after the initial day, but in the deciding match of the day two they got defeated 2-0 by Na'Vi and the Ukranian team topped this group and got themselves qualified for the playoffs.
The standings of group B featured a real thriller as we could see the top three teams being tied up. Everything started really well for Team EnVyUs as they managed to get a quick 3-0 and a first place after the initial day of the group stage. They were followed by Titan who had 2-1 after they managed to surprise Virtus.pro with 2-0 victory. Although it was looking like we were going to see the two French teams going through this group, Virtus.pro managed to change that after they made a comeback after getting beat up by Titan, defeating both nV and Immunity 2-0. In the end, it all fell to the round score difference where Titan was the best ranked followed by Virtus.pro. Things didn't work out for nV as they were sent packing home.
