Fnatic managed to overcome Virtus Pro in the deciding match for first place at the King of Majors online tournament.
King of Majors featured four teams battling it out for a prize pool of $15,000. The format was a double-elimination bracket with matches being played in a best-of-three series. Fnatic entered the grand finals match with a one map advantage. They faced Virtus Pro in the final, which was a surprise to the Polish side as they expected EnvyUs and NiP to reach the final.
The first map, Nuke, went right down to the wire as Fnatic came back from an 11-4 half time deficit to a thrilling 16-14 victory over the Polish side. The second map, Cache, was more one sided than Nuke, with Fnatic racing off to a 5-0 lead before VP got their first round. The first half ended with Fnatic up 12-3 after a dominant Terrorist side performance. The Polish team did their best to come back, but it was too little too late as Fnatic won the game 16-9.
