FACEIT has announced the schedule and map pool for their $50,000 CS:GO tournament, which includes divisions in NA and EU.
FACEIT League, a relatively new tournament organizer is on track to host one of the world's largest non-Valve funded CS:GO tournaments. The league will include some of the best teams in the world from EU and NA, both in their seperate divisions.
The first match of the online section will start on September 23rd, and the following matches will be played on the Wednesday and Thursday of each week. The standard schedule will end on October 2nd, where a "superweek" will take place from October 6th - 9th and will have double the number of teams playing.
The European teams will play against each team twice within this time period, adding up to a total of 56 matches being played between the eight European teams. However, the six North American teams will play against each team only once, adding up to a smaller total of 15 matches being played.
It is important to note that despite the fact that FACEIT is not sponsored by Valve at all, they will still be using a very similar yet controversial map pool as ESL Cologne, which removes de_train and adds de_cobblestone and de_overpass. The FACEIT League map pool will still remove de_train, but will replace it with de_season and de_overpass instead of de_cobblestone.
The FACEIT League will have the following map pool:
- de_nuke
- de_dust2
- de_inferno
- de_mirage
- de_cache
- de_season
- de_overpass
It is also important to note that the teams Epsilon eSports and Team-LDLC have been replaced by teams under the name of "BST" and "Mercenary". GosuGamers has received unconfirmed now confirmed information that the teams will have the following rosters, further developing the rumors of the "French shuffle".
BST will have the following roster:
Robin "GMX" Stahmer
Gordon "sf" Giry
Adil "ScreaM" Benriltom
