World Champion sOs is among the players that will officially open 2014 Code A Season 1
The twelve groups for GSL Code A have been drawn. Some serious competition is about to start this week, including names like sOs, Effort, Flash, Leenock and Gumiho.
This year's Code A Season 1 (or Challenger League as it was called in 2013) has been changed in a couple of ways. First of all, the format has been revamped to feature just one big group stage of twelve dual tournament groups. Winners of those go to Code S while losers are back to the qualifiers.
Apart from that, it's the very competition that has gone fiercer. Names like 2013 World Champion sOs are down in Code A along with established names on the StarCraft scene like Flash, Leenock, Symbol, Roro, Innovation, Life, Squirtle, DongRaeGu, Seed, Ryung and many more. Given the do or die nature of this particular Code A, the competition - which will span from January 15th to January 24th - promises to be vicious. The GSL preliminaries have been known to be extremely hard to beat and fans of the household names should hope their idols place in the top two of their groups.
