Lucifron, StarDust the first eliminated from DreamHack Winter

The Spanish Terran and the Korean Protoss say goodbye to the competition in Jönköping as their 0-3 records send them home. Two matches are to be played in each group before the first half of day one is over.

The fall of Lucifron would not be the biggest surprises in Group A. Coming as the ultimated underdog, Azubu's Patience made a name for himself as he sliced through the competition, achieving the best current result in the group and dropping just a single series to Liquid's TLO. The Korean Protoss is now first in Group A, having left behind him not just the Germany Zerg but also foreigners' brightest hope Naniwa (who recovered after an initial loss to Patience to win back-to-back series and keep his chances alive) and the Valencia champion HyuN.

In Group B, IEM New York champion Life cruised to a 3-0 to climb to the top for the time being. The only Zerg in the group, Life dealt losses to Polt, JYP and StarDust and will play MMA in his final game of the day.

Two more players in Group B know their fate. Eliminated 0-3 in series, StarDust joins Lucifron while Polt is certain to start day two in the lower bracket due to his 1-3 record.

Groups C and D are scheduled for 19:00 CET today.
