Korea and Taiwan dominate WCG '13 day one

PartinG and Soulkey took the first places in their groups and were followed into playoffs by Taiwanese duo Sen and Ian.

As expected, the Koreans saw little resistance on their way to groups' top. PartinG pinned a 12-1 record, dropping only a single game to Hong Kong Terran Nicholas, while Soulkey had an equally impressive 14-2, not losing a single series and dropping maps to Clannad of China and Ian of Taiwan.

Ian would later come to finish second in his group after Soulkey, narrowly advancing over Clannad due to better map score (both were 5-2 in series but Ian was 11-5 in maps to Clannad's 11-6). The Taiwanese Zerg will play last year's champion PartinG in the Ro8.

Soulkey's opponent in the quarter finals will be none other than Taiwan Zerg star SEn. SEn's run through his group was a easier than his compatriot's and bar his loss to PartinG he didn't drop a single game, finishing with a 10-2 score.

WCG 2013 continues tomorrow with the remaining two groups.
