Jaedong, Maru, Bomber and sOs as the BlizzCon semi-finalists + full VOD list

The WCS Grand Finals are down to the last four players. At 21:00 CET, the tournament returns with Bomber vs sOs, followed by Jaedong vs Maru at 22:30 CET.

The Round of 16 became a colorful mix of upsets, strong showings and neck-and-neck games. The top half of the bracket saw the elimination of the only foreigner, Alliance's Naniwa. The Swede who made it to BlizzCon after a dominating 3-0 tie-breaker after EG's Revival suffered a defeat in four games at the hands of WCS rankings leader Soulkey and was among the first to be eliminated from the tournament.

That half of the bracket was also where all mirror-matches took place. The TvT face-offs ended the tournament runs of Acer's MMA who lost a five-game series to Bomber and EG's Alive, who was one-sidedly trampled by back-to-back WCS America champion Polt. In the PvP of the evening, Liquid's HerO fell 1-3 to Woongjin's sOs, a series that started with a spectacular macro game on Akilon Wastes.

The start of the bottom half of the bracket also saw tournament's first upset as Innovation lost 2-3 to Duckdeok, tarnishing his otherwise spotless TvP record. The Europe Season 2 champion took a two-game lead right from the start but was almost turned around as Innovation scored back-to-back wins on Yeonsu and Bel'Shir Vestige and it was only on Akilon Wastes that Duckdeok could finally triumph.

The rest of the bracket saw more or less one-sided series. Dear and Maru dominated the PvTs, beating Taeja and MC respectively with 3-1 scores while Jaedong showed he has fixed his ZvT flaws and played a flawless game against Mvp to take a 3-0 advancement into the quarter finals.

The upper half quarter finals were another four-game series. Although playing statistically his worst match-up, Bomber was able to eliminate Soulkey while sOs continued his momentum and ended Polt's run. The two will play each other today at 21:00 CET.

Down in the bottom half, Jaedong came back from a 1-2 deficit against two-times WCS champion Dear and is on his way to yet another semi-final appearance in a premier tournament, his sixth for this year. The Tyrant will play OSL champion Maru at 22:30 CET after the Prime youngster went through an analogical scenario after the slayer of Innovaiton Duckdeok.
